Within the ABA community, there are many different ethical considerations that may emerge. On this episode of the Turn Autism Around Podcast, I am interviewing Dr. Ilene Schwartz, who is a professor of special education at the University of Washington, as well as a BCBA and world renowned researcher for kids with autism. She is also an ethics expert and will be discussing ethics for behavior analysts and other professionals.

This is an episode that a lot of people need to hear, so I asked Dr. Schwartz all types of questions, including: how did she became an ethical expert? How does she handle little issues, like when it is appropriate to accept a cup of coffee? And what are the hard questions that so many ABA professionals are avoiding?

It’s important to know what you stand for, and to stand firm in that. Dr. Schwartz knows what she believes and has the expertise to back up her beliefs. I am sharing this interview with you to elevate all of our thinking to help us focus on the important issues and deliver the best ABA we can.
